Rodneesha Jenkins

Rodneesha Jenkins came to Delaware Tech to pursue a college degree in human services so she can pursue her passion of fighting poverty and helping underprivileged communities. "My goal is to become founder, director, and CEO of a government agency geared toward helping the homeless and people suffering from mental health ailments, as well as people in underprivileged communities."

Rodneesha chose Delaware Tech because of the Connected Degree programs. "I hope to continue my education with one of Del Tech's partner school and obtain my Bachelor's in Behavioral Science."

In 2020, while attending college virtually, Rodneesha lost two loved ones and had a difficult time finishing out the semester. "I had to push through because I knew that my family would want me to overcome and push forward with my education."

Coming to Delaware Tech as a nontraditional student has taught Rodneesha to change the way she views herself. "I realized that older and younger students alike have a lot to bring to the campus, and that age is only a number. It's okay to be older and still be successful in college."

She advises other students to focus on their goals and set aside time to study. "Always seek out help if you are having a hard time. If you remain consistent with your goals, no matter what is happening in the world around you, you can and will succeed."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Rodneesha plans to move forward with pursuing a bachelor's degree in behavioral science and eventually a master's degree in human services.
